The Jewel of the Hungry Fire functions as described on page 383 of the Exalted 2nd Edition Core rulebook, with the exception that the bonus to resist environmental heat effects is +3 not +2. The additional soak from this stone explicitly stacks with armour and applies to both non-magical and magical fire attacks.
