The Flowering Acanthus Retreat is a secluded manse located in a hilly region of Lord’s Crossing Dominion, northwest of the Traiter Pass, reached by a route splitting from the True and Turning Root of the Dragon.

The main building is not large as Dynastic manors go, but contains a number of bedrooms on the upper floors, with balconies for viewing of the surrounding hills, sitting rooms and libraries below, and a number of ‘root chambers’ located deeper underground, including cells and a Genesis workshop. The property is surrounded by a moss-covered wall, with a common passage in from the north and a more ornate main gate entering from the south. In both cases, there is no gatehouse or watchtower, nor even a gate, the northern entry a circular opening in the wall while the southern a high arch whose keystone has been formed around a large sphere of red Adamantine Glass that sometimes catches Sol’s light to play beams of colour along the path leading up to the manse.

Outside the walls to the northwest, flowering acanthus has spilled out over the walls into an area marked by several small memorial headstones.
