Hibare is one of a pair of sisters that attended the Academy, both part of the class of RY754. Her early life involved constant comparison with her identical twin as their family displayed them at recitals and salons as expression of Cynis fertility. Growing up she found herself endlessly measured against her sibling, fighting for recognition and praise from teachers and parents. She emphasized more with their father, a Sesus officer in the 4th Imperial Legion.

During her primary school years she struck a friendship with the rebellious Peleps Amidus. (description of their friendship goes here). At motherly urging to perform a duet for school recitals she paired herself with Ledaal Shinjo instead of Hinoke and had him author Ducks and Cicadas for her, an erotic poem they performed together in RY757 to acclaim. In her fifth year she took her Second Breath, Exalting as an Aspect of Air alongside her sister after their feud escalated. This was viewed as especially auspicious by House Cynis.

Soon after graduation Hibare left for the Threshold to join the 4th Imperial Legion and serve with her father. She led the charge during a fateful moment in the Western Slope Withdrawal in efforts to save the artillery units; over the course of the campaign she claimed over 500 ears from her foes. With the Legion assuming the garrison of the Imperial City she has been present at several social events of note, including the Grand Salon of Ascendant Ever-Victorious Heroism, the Salon of Flesh and Flowers and the Fete of Five Flames.
