Sen Wabicha was a tea master of the Shogunate Era, considered one of the Five Paragons of the Shogunate or Five Banished Immortals, styled Banished Jupiter, though no such titles are referenced in texts which pass through the censors of the Realm and the Immaculate Order.

While a number of schools evolved throughout the Shogunate based on various approaches to Tea, Sen established the ceremonies and practices which would take on the roal of Tea Ceremony orthodoxy. Sen was also considered to be skilled at flower-arranging, which he incorporated into his approach to tea, and to have incorporated elements from his fellow Paragons, particularly the brushwork of Heavenly Reed. While these and Wabicha’s implements have been lost to Creation in the centuries since, the details of his ceremonies were recorded and have been preserved into the present day. This was aided in part by the fact that Sen alone amongst the Paragons had issue and founded a Gens. Sen’s three daughters, and subsequent generations of Gens Sen, were famed tea-masters preserving the ways of their founder (though abandoning titles such as ‘Paragon’ from their own writings on him) through until they faded in the wake of the Great Contagion.
