Flaming Plum (drink)

A Flaming Plum is a cocktail most often seen amongst Dynastic expatriates and the scions of Gens Anatae in the port of Wu Jian, said to represent that city's place as the midpoint between the Blessed Isle and the Western Threshold. It consists of a base of Plum Brandy (representing the Isle), over which has been layered Rakia Liqueur (representing the West), the resulting drink then set aflame (resulting, some say, the light of a lighthouse and thus a port, though others attribute it to 'a sign of respect for the god of intoxicants', 'a fierce spirit of resistance' or 'the doomed fate of those who resist [insert the faction which the commentator holds should dominate the West]. The fiery drink is quickly imbibed.

In addition to Wu Jian, the Flaming Plum is sometimes seen at the galas of the Scarlet Dynasty (particularly in the Isle's western prefectures) and the courts of the Western nobility.
