Darillak

Darillak, Lord of Tears, is the god of Despair and Suicide, currently serving as the daimyo of Northern Pain in the Bureau of Heaven’s Council of Suffering.

Darillak has the power to inflict immense despair upon those who catch his gaze, driving them to suicide. This is a power which it exploits to the fullest, afflicting wealthy mortals or their children and demanding grand sacrifices be made to him so he will relieve them before they end their own lives. Though those of powerful Essence rarely succumb in full, they can be sent into a black depression… Darillak does not share that this power affects the gods of Heaven as well as mortals of Creation, for such a weapon is most useful if none suspect it: it has already proven utility in ending the career of at least one Celestial Lion who was considering an investigation into his activities.

Darillak is a god of suicide, but only that emerging from despair. He feels, however, that ALL self-inflicted deaths are despairing at their core, and quietly maneuvers against other divinities whose purviews include it, such as Nasamara the god of Northern War and Glorious Victory (who governs suicidal heroics) and Shining Flower the Bloody Goddess (who governs willing self-sacrifice in worship of the gods).
