A bush native to the southwestern and southeastern Threshold, though spread widely across Creation for cultivation. It is valued for its seeds, which can be crushed to produce a vibrant red pigment that is put to a number of culinary and cosmetic uses, including in production of lipstick, as body paint, for colouring and flavouring foods, and in painting.
