Satrapal Garden

'Satrapal Garden' is a term for a garden arranged according to a specific theme, using the techniques of Dynastic landscaping and the flora of a particular Imperial Satrapy or other region to express that region's terrain and identity in a condensed, intensified form. The specific styles of such gardens can vary widely, depending on the region they seek to invoke, but the best examples are seen in the Imperial Palace Gardens, where by tradition new tributary states fund and supply a garden plot which is gifted to the Scarlet Empress, so that their lands might have a presence at the heart of Her rule.
