Imperial Heavy Foot

The elite of the Scarlet Empire’s Legions, made up of experienced soldiers girded in Reinforced Breastplate, with Poleaxes and Tower Shields. Heavy Foot units are typically used as a reserve in Imperial Legion Tactics: their armour and morale let them be deployed to hold firm a faltering battle line, or to lead a charge under fire or against potent enemy troops, followed by Imperial Medium Foot. They are also favoured for siege-breaking and urban cleansing operations, their heavy axes able to smash through doors and light walls, and the lighter weapons of civil resistance having little hope of breaking their formidable defenses.

Several other Realm military units adopt similar equipment and formations, including the Guardians of the Deliberative and Unsurpassable Guard of House Mnemon.
