The Ever-Fruiting Council of Grains, often referred to by its simpler colloquial name the Board of Harvests, is a division of the Bureau of Humanity’s Department of Universal Human Affairs, home to the gods of the food grains cultivated by mortal societies across Creation. Originally, these gods of plant and seed were found under the Bureau of Nature, but successful maneuvers by Wun Ja and Agralzo in times long passed poached those gods en-masse due to their close links with human agriculture. When many gods in Universal Human Affairs were subsequently tempted away into the Bureau of Heaven, the close entwining of the purviews of grain with mortal life meant the gods of grain received little lobbying to join the exodus. They thus remain a potent force in Universal Human Affairs, and often coordinate with the gods of the Culinary Conclave, though they have enemies as well… particularly their former colleagues the plant gods in the Bureau of Nature, whose purviews the grain gods encourage mortals to eradicate in order to clear fields and paddies for the spread of grain agriculture.

The current Satrap of the Council is Ovin-Bareth, Prince of Grain, god of Wheat, a position granted him by the Unconquered Sun, though it is well known that most of the other grain gods have ambitions to take his place.
