Called By: Any Senator of the Greater Chamber.

Requires: 50%+1 Majority.

Circumstances: A threat to the security of the Realm.

Description: Can be called by any Senator, following normal procedures, naming a threat to the Realm and a proposed response. The debate is long, both on the actual danger of the 'threat' and on what forces ought be deployed to deal with it. These motions are often debated and rejected several times, as their sponsors alter the details of the response and present amended petitions in hopes of gaining further votes.

Under the watch of the Scarlet Empress, Motions for Deployment were (like most Motions) merely advice submitted for Her consideration. However, while the approach of the current Imperial Regent has given many Senate motions greater teeth than ever before, the Legion Control Act clearly passed power over the Imperial Legions to the Great Houses, meaning the law has gained little power in the new political environment.
