The 2nd Imperial Legion, first raised in RY40, is a military formation of the Realm, based out of the Glittering Citadel in Vatamu. It numbers amongst the 4 (once 5) Legions known as the Imperial Guard.
The 2nd has spent much of its life as a garrison unit defending the shores of the Scarlet Prefecture, but detachments have been deployed to more active operations, including the war against the Anathema Jochim (who was eventually slain by the Wind Dancer Tepet Arada). The strategoi of the 2nd at that time was Cathak C'taru.
In RY768, the Deliberative voted to deploy the 2nd Legion to the Threshold to continue the campaign of protecting Realm interests left by the 4th Imperial Legion.
