The Gem of Bones to Fire is a palm-sized rectangular gemstone whose emerald colouration fades to a raspberry red at one end, the whole flecked with bronze that sparkles brightly in firelight.

To employ the power of the Gem, the bearer concentrates upon a target. If her player succeeds at a Manipulation + Socialize roll, Difficulty equal to the target’s Essence, the bearer has managed to catch the target’s eye, and the energy of the stone flashes between the two.

The target makes a Willpower roll, Difficulty equal to the number of successes achieved on the bearer’s previous roll. If they succeed, the effect is shaken off immediately and may not be attempted again this scene. If they fail, then the bones within their body ignite, inflicting [bearer’s Essence] levels of unsoakable Lethal damage on the target every 5 ticks, so long as the bearer continues to stare at the target and the target continues to live).

The target, in addition to excruciating pain, is aware that the bearer’s gaze is the source of their anguish. If the target manages to escape the bearer’s line of sight, or if the bearer’s stare is somehow broken, the burning stops.

The damage from this power may be healed normally, and counts as magical fire.
