Bright Morning

Bright Morning, known to some as Vision Dust, is an alchemical drug produced in small quantities across Creation. It is made from a mixture of dozens of different herbs found across the Eastern Threshold, which are dried and mixed carefully to produce a powder with a vibrant purple colour.

The drug is of great value in occult and religious circles. When Bright Morning is smoked, it allows mortals to be able to perceive and interact with dematerialized spirits, and for those of enlightened essence can grant glimpses of essence flows around them. In addition to this insight, it also fills the mind with hallucinations and strips it of stresses and concerns… users often feel a contented euphoria, but they become sluggish and have difficulty perceiving the physical world around them.

Bright Morning is popular, but highly expensive, and quite addictive: addicts will often experience hallucinations even when they are not smoking the drug… should they fail to consume more than one dose a week, they will begin to suffer the terrible effects of withdrawal, including shooting pain, sudden chills, and delirium. Enduring this for a month is arduous, but following the experience the addiction will have been overcome.

Bright Morning is banned in the Realm, as well as in many areas where the Immaculate Order holds great sway, but even here it is sometimes smuggled in. Elsewhere, The Guild’s supply chains stretching along the rivers of the East allow it to produce the drug and bring it to market, gaining large profits doing so.
