The Mangis bush is a short, fat bush, native to the native to warmer jungle climes in the southeastern and southwestern Threshold, favouring the shaded areas of the deep jungle. Mangis leaves are barbed and thorny, much like holly, growing numerous in order to protect its fat fruit.

Mangis fruit is sweet and succulent. Each fruit grows from two flowers, which bloom side-by-side atop a long stem and transform over the Wood season into yellow fruit. The two begin taking a round shape, but early on grow together, uniting into a single fruit around two seeds, which hangs from its parent branch by the stem. The fruit grows quite large by the end of the Wood season, reaching weights of up to 3lbs. Its flavour is found to be similar to that of papaya, with a hint of bitterness… the skin is very bitter, and most who consume the fruit attempt to remove it before eating.
