Ardeleth is a state of the Northeastern Threshold, bordering Talinin, Bloody River , and the forest domain of the Tribe of the Three Owls, not far north of the Valley of Shards . Ardeleth has long been a settled agricultural kingdom, struggling against raiders from neighbouring tribes. Though they engage in extensive logging for lumber and to clear farmland, they have maintained a steady peace with Halta, trading grain crops for forest products. Their capital was the city of Fallen Lapis , a walled settlement serving as seat of the local king and feudal nobility.

During the War with the Bull, Ardeleth was one of the first states to accept the Bull of the North’s offer of alliance, joining in the war effort by supplying troops and supplies in the invasions of Talinin and Rokan-jin. When the war escalated into genocide, the Realm’s retaliation was directed at Fallen Lapis, and the city was obliterated by eldritch power said to emanate from the Imperial Manse, its entire population slain.

In the war’s aftermath, Ardeleth has been expanded to include swaths of surrounding territory and placed under military government by the Bull of the North, population tasked with production of vast amounts of grain for the feeding of his armies. Productivity is said to have increased, but the population sees few benefits.
