Appearance: Fire Agates are yellow gems with internal sparkling and incandescence, as if a flame is trapped within. This is an illusion: a fire agate can be carved and fragmented without ever reaching the source of that internal flame, each fragment itself seeming to be possessed of internal fire.

Description: Agate gemstones are associated with dragon lines of Wood and Earth, and Fire Agates are said to be created when agates are suddenly exposed to an influx of Fire essence, such as when a dragon line bursts in a volcanic eruption. Agates are easily carved, and thus see use across Creation both in smaller ornaments for the merchant classes and huge carved stones displayed by the nobility.

Perhaps because it seems to be an eternal trap for a flame, fire agate is thought to be a calming influence upon essence, and is used in talismans to bring about such effects.
