Nestor's Mitre is the name of a small, leafy tree found growing in the southeastern Threshold. It takes its name from the resemblance of its broad, dark green leaves to the shape of the large headdresses worn by nestors of the Immaculate Order and high priests of several sun cults around the Threshold.

The leaves of Nestor's Mitre serve as a drug of the same name, either chewed fresh or dried and brewed into a tea. Its effects have commonly been compared to a mild form of Opium, sedating and relaxing those who take it. There is however, a ceiling on its effects, beyond which consuming more Nestor's Mitre does not do further benefit or harm: it can thus never fully equal the effects of opium, but has not been known to cause death by overdose, and while addictive the withdrawal is much less severe.
