Hinoke is one of a pair of sisters that attended the Academy, both part of the class of RY754. Her early life involved constant comparison with her identical twin as their family displayed them at recitals and salons as objects of Cynis fertility. Growing up she found herself endlessly measured against her sibling, fighting for recognition and praise from teachers and parents. She emphasized more with their mother Cynis Dythora, a socialite involved in Cynis slave concerns.

During her primary school years Hinoke moved between the various cliques of the Academy's childhood power games. She was desired as a romantic partner by many including Ragara Thannek-Tyros. In her fifth year she took her Second Breath, Exalting as an Aspect of Air alongside her sister after their feud escalated. This was viewed as especially auspicious by House Cynis.

Soon after graduation Hinoke left for the Threshold to adventure across the Western isles and An Teng. With return to the Imperial City she has been present at several social events of note, usually in company of her sister, including the Grand Salon of Ascendant Ever-Victorious Heroism, the Salon of Flesh and Flowers and the Fete of Five Flames.
