Rakia is a sweet liqueur produced from distillation of fermented Western Plums. It is commonly produced and consumed in the islands of the West, such as Murak, and trade sees it filling cups in the South around An-Teng and the prefectures of the Blessed Isle's western coast such as Eagle Prefecture.

Rakia is consumed poured into small glasses at the beginning of the evening meal, to exchange a toast that offers praise to some mighty divinity... most common is the toaste "Praise to Danaa'd!", though "Praise to the Unconquered Sun!" is also common, and amongst tasting Lintha praise is directed towards their Yozi progenitor Kimberry. In addition to suppertimes, rakia toasts are often exchanged by ship captains coming alongside each other as a sign of respect... even in less-than-friendly circumstances, such as a customs inspector coming aboard to levy taxes or a pirate boarding to remove surrendered cargo, the victor will often offer the victim a rakia toast.

Amongst northern islands, rakia is consumed somewhat differently from in the rest of the West, mulled with spices and served hot in larger mugs, toasting becoming far less common.

Rakia ought not be confused with alcoholic beverages such as Plum Brandy (favoured in Dynastic cuisine) that make use of land-bound plum varieties and are generally far less sweet.
