Cachasa is a sweet liquor derived from the sugary water found within Sweetwater Gourds. A few ancient beings remember its origins, produced by the inhabitants of the Western continent Okeanos before it was shattered in the Primordial War. Some savants, less long-lived, have studied its flavour and believe it to be the ancestor of Rum.

Cachasa is considered to have a flavour more sublime than rum, and seems to survive indefinitely: while drink bottled in the present Age and during the Shogunate often has impurities, bottles and cases dating from the time of the Solar Deliberative have been found in undersea ruins or hidden caches. True connoisseurs of liquor dream of finding a bottle marked ‘OKEANOS’ in Old Realm, though the price of such a thing would surely be enough to purchase whole kingdoms.
