Rensky is a middling Tripartite official of Claslat’s Economicat, part of the panel tasked with glot distribution in Harmegis. Rensky’s performance reviews show him an unremarkable bureaucrat, meeting deadlines and quotas without fail but leaving the truly prestigious undertakings to his more ambitious peers while he carries out the solid background work of bureaucracy.


Rensky is also corrupt. Like many of his peers, in his first years as an Economicat official he forged an alliance with the rising glot boss known as Basta... Rensky ensured Basta and his thugs received favourable performance reviews (and the glots which accompanied such ratings), and warning of any Regulator crackdowns which might be impending. Basta handed a cut of the glots he took in back to Rensky, bolstered by the takings from pimping and running protection rackets. Over the years, Basta also ensured ‘accidents’ befell individuals who might threaten the arrangement, be they abused Populat stall owners or occasionally curious Tripartite bureaucrats.


Rensky’s well-organized system of corruption came to an end when the Alchemical Exalt Vigorous March of Progress moved against Basta, forcing the glot boss to abandon the city and his allies. Rensky had been very careful, his tracks covered well enough to escape Basta’s fall. Though deprived of his partner (and the luxuries and muscle he provided), Rensky retains his Economicat position, his greed joined by a thirst to see the Alchemical who disrupted his perfect scheme brought low. For his part, Vigorous March of Progress has a belief that Basta had some assistance from corrupt members in the Tripartite, but does not know their identities, nor that one has embarked on a particularly vindictive course...
