Kajeth is a Haltan tree city located on the banks of the Bloody River . A river port is located below the city, dating from the First Age, and while no docks are maintained a system of elevator platforms allows cargo and passengers to be raised and lowered from river barges. Kajeth is a center of trade because of this, exchanging large quantities of goods with Jarrith and Bloody River , which provides significant Ironwood and metal goods. Access to the markets of the Scavenger Lands is logistically difficult, but is accomplished by traders braving the risk of Linowan piracy along the Silver River or taking the slow journey overland via Ardeleth, the Valley of Six Barons, and the kingdoms beyond to reach the Rock River.

Kajeth is located along the river border with the Linowan-allied Rokan-jin, requiring increased military presence in the city, though the Rokan-jin were never as aggressive as their Linowan cousins. The city was a staging point for the Haltan forces and armies of Yurgen Kaneko during the War with the Bull, and the inhabitants had more exposure than the rest of the nation to the impact of the war, and though civilians were evacuated for a time as Realm-Linowan armies advanced, the city was held thanks to the sacrifice of Haltan solders and the power of the Bull’s demonic emissary Florivet, who was commanded to not let Kajeth fall.

The people of Kajeth now rebuild, but they are shaken, for demons walked amongst them, perhaps even saved them… spirits with the powers of gods and Fae, with the appearance of beasts and beastmen, who left none amongst those who stood against them alive. The city’s spirit may take much more effort to heal than its body, but most within Halta do not wish to think long on the things which the inhabitants of Kajeth have seen.
