Five-Dragon Style is a Terrestrial Martial Art, the only such style regularly taught by the monks of the Immaculate Order. It sees common use among the Dragon-Blooded of the Realm, both those in the Order and outside of it, and is considered something of a weaker cousin to the true might of the Five Glorious Dragon Paths. It embraces each of the Elemental Dragons, but carries only a diluted religious import unto its practitioners.

Five-Dragon Style is built upon a foundation which also serves as a general approach to the training of Brawl (Ability) within the Immaculate Order and the Realm's Primary Schools. The young children's game of Five Fists leads into this approach to brawling, and thus to Five-Dragon Style.

The Style of Five Dragons Fight as One begins with the One Fundamental Stance, from which all Strikes and all Defenses, and all their stances, arise. The Fundamental Stance is has the energy of Fire, the stability of Earth, the movement of Air, the depth of Water, and the flexibility of Wood.

From the Fundamental Stance, one may launch the Five Foundation Strikes. The Strike of Fire is forceful and direct, the Strike of Earth is strong and certain, the Strike of Air is quick and shifting, the Strike of Water is broad and flowing, the Strike of Wood is bending and growing.

Against the Five Foundation Strikes, there are the Five Basic Defenses. The Defense of Fire controls the Attack of Earth and consumes the Attack of Air. The Defense of Earth controls the Attack of Air and dams the Attack of Water. The Defense of Air controls the Attack of Water and shreds the Attack of Wood. The Defense of Water controls the Attack of Wood and extinguishes the Attack of Fire. The Defense of Wood controls the Attack of Fire and cracks the Attack of Earth.

To control an attack is to halt it, redirect it, to prevent it from harming you. This is the Primary Way of Defense, the way of survival, and the first which must be mastered. But to destroy an attack is to strike its source, to set Attack against Attack, this is the Ultimate Way of Defense, the way of victory.

Atop mastery of these forms and concepts, those of enlightened Essence may grasp the Charms and the Form of Five-Dragon Style Martial Arts.

FORM WEAPONS: This style treats Straight Swords, Spears, Daiklaves and Dire Lances as Form Weapons. It may be practiced in armour.
