Manosque Celadon was a Dynast of the early Scarlet Empire, in the years after the Great Contagion. Haunted by dreams of the suffering during the Great Contagion, Celadon became widely known for his medical skills, pioneering approaches that are still in use by the Doctors Walking Barefoot in the Steps of Sextes Jylis within the Benevolent Stewards of Health and Utility. Celadon refused monetary payment for his work, instead asking that those he helped plant a single Apricot tree. His residence soon became surrounded by such trees, a veritable orchard forest.
Celadon was put to death in the purges following the rebellion of his brother Viridian, and his name was purged from all Imperial records. However, his influence persists even without his name, apricot imagery a poetic reference for physicians, (even the common folk often using the term ‘apricot orchard’ for the Realm’s hospitals and Apricot Ministry for the Stewards), and the centuries-old remnants of his orchards still existing on the estate of the Garden of Bright Apricots in Pangu.
