The region dominated by the treetop Republic of Halta contains a number of forest walkers whose purview is the individual forests of the land, which they wander and care for. These gods are worshipped by the Haltans, and were signatories of the Treaty of High Order and Wild Roots with the Fair Folk.
Glorious Jade Branch: Branch is the most powerful of Halta’s forest walkers, loyal lieutenant of Caltia the Eternal who oversees Halta on her behalf. He is also her lover, and his position of primacy amongst forest walkers is certainly not unrelated.
Glorious Jade Branch is considered by the Haltans to be god of the whole Haltan forest, though there IS no such forest, and he is in fact only god of the coniferous forest stretching between the River of Golden Branches and River of Black Branches.
Whispering Needles: Forest walker of the coniferous forest between the Silver and Blackwater Rivers.
Shining Trunk: Forest walker of the coniferous forest between the Blackwater River and the River of Golden Branches.
Tylokan Root Binder: Forest walker of the mixed coniferous-deciduous forest on the southeastern border of Halta. While technically his purview includes deciduous trees, Tylokan has openly taken sides with Caltia against Golden-Eyed Jorst, and backs Haltan efforts to spread conifers while not doing the same for Linowan attempts to spread deciduous trees. In the old stories and memories of the gods, he was once the most jovial of the Northeastern forest walkers, but over the centuries his personality has grown more acidic.
Resilan: Forest walker of the coniferous forest between the Bloody River and River of Black Branches.
Steel-Skinned Ubil: Forest walker of the Ironwood forest found in southern Halta, Jarrith, and Soja.
Ubil and Resilan have been engaged in a friendly competition which has become more serious as time wears on, each wanting their forests to displace the other. Resilan's redwoods are vital to the Haltans for residence, as Ironwood trees are short and stocky, unfit for safety from the Fair Folk and Linowan... spreading more redwoods amongst the ironwood forest, he claims, is key to maintaining secure settlements in southern Halta. For her part, Ubil calls for the clearing of redwoods to plant more ironwood, as it is a vital strategic resource, key to providing Halta with a material like metal from a domestic source. To rely on foreign sources of metal goods is simply foolish, she insists.
