Occupying the northern end of the Royal District in the City of the Steel Lotus is the Maze of Rivers, residence of the Imperial Satrap of An-Teng. Canals connect the estate to the River of Queens, and surround the low square edifice with a literal maze of waterways and bridges. The Maze appears a simple building next to the extravagance of the Palace of Threefold Magnificence just to the south, but its simplicity hides its true power, for it is both a manse and the home of the most powerful man in An-Teng: the Imperial Satrap.
