The 3rd Imperial Legion was amongst the first Legions founded by order of the Scarlet Empress as of RY40. It numbers amongst the 4 (once 5) Legions known as the Imperial Guard.
For much of its history it has served as a garrison force, though it has been deployed to more active combat several times, the first of which saw it devastated in battle against Lookshy in RY88. It performed with far greater success as the vanguard of operations to crush the Vengeful Harvest (RY326) and Bloodied Scythe (RY707) peasant uprisings.
The 3rd Legion is highly regarded for the beauty and drill of its parades.
