The Melee ability is the ability which covers fighting with close combat weapons such as swords, spears, axes, clubs, and near-countless more... Melee is perhaps the most ubiquitous form of combat in Creation due to the simplicity of constructing weapons and their damaging effects. This has, over the millennia, resulted in various cultures and organizations across [[Creation]] developing local arms, sometimes into entirely new weapons but more commonly to meet the particular aesthetic and stylistic demands of their cultures, ensuring a vast diversity for the master of melee who wishes to match a weapon to a particular task (or in the case of many Princes of the Earth in the [[Scarlet Dynasty]], to a particular seasonal fashion).
