The bearer of this translucent white sphere can sense all sources of salt within one mile. The player rolls (Perception + Awareness) at difficulty 2. Each success lets the character know the direction, distance and approximate size of every salt source within range, starting with the largest and working down in size. This hearthstone provides no other information about the local terrain, nor the [[Salt God]]s who rule over the sources detected.  Locating salt is invaluable to humans seeking to preserve foodstuffs, and those attempting to resist undead threats.
