The Imperial Ministry of Jade Management and Mountain Folk Relations combines two important responsibilities. The first is the regulation and oversight of all jade mines within the Realm, a task which primarily involves setting production quotas and evaluating quality. 


The second responsibility of the Ministry is diplomatic, maintenance of the Realm’s relationship with the [[Mountain Folk]] to ensure they pay proper tribute and obeisance. The ambassadors of the Mountain Folk to the Realm reside permanently in the Ministry’s expansive headquarters. 


The Ministry is one of only a few arms of the [[Thousand Scales]] which is not headquartered in the [[Imperial City]], instead being based out of the city of [[Juche]] (in [[Juche Prefecture]]).
