Sorae,

It is a poor friend who does not stand with their comrades in troubled times, and I have been a poor friend indeed. I continue to mourn your family's loss, and the suffering that loss has visited upon you.

I too have felt loss, though incomparable, and know the turmoil that afflicts the soul because of it. It may count for little, but I renew my promise: some day we shall take a legion to the the Threshold and take the Bull's head.

I have recently been practicing my martial skills, and my mind has returned to our days at the Academy, two dragons burning bright into the night testing each other's skill with the sword. The memory has made me realise my failures as a friend, and I hope you will accept my efforts to renew bonds left too long to fade.

I hope you will join me on the 23rd of this month, at sunset, in the Blossoming Orchid Pavilion of the Palace, for a meeting of friends too long apart.
