The Jewel of the Flying Heart is a sharp, triangular gem of blood-red hue. The air around its bearer’s hands seems to buoy their speed and harden against encroaching projectiles, allowing the bearer to swat them from the sky, but its true might comes when an artifact blade is used to channel its power: the blade slices through the air, striking at the foes before it and flashing like lightning to cut down the slings and arrows which bombard him, no matter how numerous they might be. 


The bearer of the stone adds +1 to her Parry DV, and may parry ranged attacks while unarmed, without need for a stunt. 


Additionally, if the Jewel is placed in the hearthstone socket of an edged weapon, it grants the bearer a +1 bonus to [[Melee (Ability)|melee]] attacks with that weapon. While wielding that weapon, the bearer also applies their full Parry DV against all ranged attacks. This does NOT refresh their DV, merely eliminates penalties against it for resolution of this attack.
