Office of the Divine Elemental Essence

The Office of the Divine Elemental Essence is a department of the Thousand Scales which tracks marriages, births and breeding of the Dynasty on behalf of the Scarlet Empress. The Office provides official stamps to adorn the scrolls which some Dynasts use to demonstrate their lineage and connections with the Empress or other prominent figures, and are often bribed to either provide paperwork to indicate the legitimacy of out-of-wedlock children, or to block the claims of illegitimate offspring who petition their parents for recognition. The Office is also known to have at times had involvement with breeding programs designed to strengthen the blood of the Dynasty.
