V'neef Mahara is a daughter of the Scarlet Empress, one of many who was never granted a Great House. She instead dwelt in the Palace, first demonstrating mastery of koto music and singing, then occupying her time as a sponsor of performance and fine art. Her [[Gala of Perfected Performance]] is perhaps the most regarded event of the year amongst the artistic set.

When House V'neef was founded, Mahara accepted adoption by [[V'neef]]. She occupies an important post within that House, managing many matters relating to the Imperial Palace.
