This shard of gleaming black obsidian radiates no heat, and yet it seems to glow with an inner light. The hearthstone strengthens the bearer's dedication, so they might stand against all horrors without succumbing to fear or distraction. When rolling the character’s Temperance or Valor, add two dice to the roll. On the other hand, when rolling Compassion or Conviction, subtract two dice from the roll (to a minimum of one die). It is considered one of the [[Flowering Virtue Stones]], and those formed of manses in the [[River Province]] are much sought by the warriors of [[Lookshy]], who feel that such hearthstones bring them closer to the Shogunate warrior ideal.
