Redrock is a small duchy along the trade route between the northeastern forests and the Rock River, bordering [[Ardeleth]] and the [[Valley of Six Barons]]. Redrock is a matriarchal society without noble lines, ruled by a duchess who is selected through a ritualized system of duelling from amongst the tax-paying subjects of the duchy... to succeed a duchess one must defeat her in a longbow duel to the death, or is she dies of natural causes one must defeat all other claimants in a mass longbow duel.

Redrock takes its name from the rocky outcrop into which its royal palace is built. The structure, known as the '''Pillar of Red Rock''', is not particularly impressive in terms of luxury, though it is a minor (1-dot Earth) manse. It is employed by the locals as a defensible redoubt... when raided by neighbouring tribes, the local populace evacuates to the Pillar along with what posessions they can carry, and wait there until the trouble has passed.
