The Plum and Cherry Redoubt is a wood-aspected fortress manse located in the Valley of Verdant Song, found in the central region of [[Eagle Prefecture]]. It is the ancestral seat of the Denerid branch of House Sesus, and the galas and orgies held here are said to rival those of the [[Palace of Trees]] in [[Pangu]] for their extravagance, if not their depravity. To Dynasts on the Isle's Western coast, distant from the social happenings of the [[Scarlet Prefecture]], the Redoubt provides a welcome taste of the Eastern shore's excess.

The manse contains a number of armouries and barracks, many of which have been converted to gala chambers, silk-strewn bedrooms, and wine cellars. A large barracks and training yard to one side of the main entrance has been leased to House Cynis, serving as the home base for the '''Poppy Troupe''' of the [[Bevy of Effacious and Facile Blossoms]].

The surrounding valley is home to the small township of '''Verdant Song''', as well as a number of orchards and marijuana plantations whose crops flow into the thirsty Redoubt. The prefecture's only winery, the '''Song-and-Blossom Vineyard''', is located in the valley (under control of House V'neef since their founding). Traffic between the valley and the capital of the prefecture takes place mostly by riverboat, the local Shorosei River being a tributary of the larger Yodo River that flows into the ocean at [[Eagle’s Launch]].

The Redoubt is fortified, with high walls affording a good view and firing angles on foes approaching through the valley. However, military minds are highly critical of its location, as a position on the valley floor surrenders the high ground to an attacker. Remnant ruins from the Shogunate era show that this may have been countered by fortified posts overlooking the valley, but these have not been kept up by the Denerids. A detachment from the 26th Legion provides a garrison force at the Redoubt.
