Peleps Imani is a middle-aged male Wood-aspected Senator of the [[House Peleps]] caucus. A socialite even before his appointment to the Senate, Imani had a reputation as a host of excellent parties, particularly retreats at his summer manse on the [[White Coast]].

During his younger years, Imani made a rapid ascent through the rolls of the Spiral Academy and the ranks of the [[Thousand Scales]], propelled by the sudden unexplained deaths of several classmates and then superiors. While assassination is not uncommon in the [[Scarlet Dynasty]], particularly members of the bureaucracy, the sheer number of such incidents caused many to mock Imani for his crassness and barbarism… for his part, he has continually claimed innocence when accused directly, insistent that his own enemies had sought to destroy his reputation. A few joke that the [[Scarlet Empress]] elevated him to the Senate to stop him from killing off her officials, though others muse the appointment might have been engineered as an ‘assassination’ of his Scales career by a more skillful & more subtle rival.

On the floor, Imani has oft cast votes in line with those devout in the [[Immaculate]] Faith, though as he himself does not adhere strictly to Faith most observers believe this to be currying favour. He has also been seen to vote in ways that deliver vengeance upon foes in the Thousand Scales, and was described as ‘gleeful’ during the negotiations to impose cuts on the bureaucracy in the wake of the [[Scarlet Empress]]’ disappearance.

Despite the opposition of their Houses, Senator Imani is known to have business relations with fellow Senator [[V’neef Kenet]].
