New page

Liar's Mushroom is a deadly poisonous mushroom resembling the [[Chicken-of-the-Woods Mushroom]], though it grows only on coniferous trees and is found in the Northeastern Threshold. Liar's Mushroom is nearly impossible to distinguish from its edible peer in a visual sense, but in many cases the slight swelling of lips on contact can reveal its poisonous nature. In areas which harvest Chicken-of-the-Woods growing on conifer trees, such as the Republic of [[Halta]], the edible mushroom has a similar effect and distinction can often only be made when the poison has taken full hold.

In the eternal war between the [[Halta]]ns and the [[Linowan]], these mushrooms are occasionally employed as a weapon, commando raids sometimes launched by both sides to sneak such mushrooms into stockpiles of edible fungi kept in storehouses. Though these raids rarely cause many casualties, they erode morale and spread fear amongst the enemy's civil populace.
