The bearer of this translucent blue sphere can sense all sources of fresh water within one mile. The player rolls (Perception + Awareness) at difficulty 2. Each success lets the character know the direction, distance and approximate size of every freshwater source within range, starting with the largest and working down in size. This hearthstone provides no other information about the local terrain. In the Far South, however, it gives invaluable aid to finding nearby oases and settlements.
