Death Cap mushrooms are a form of fungus usually found growing in symbiosis with trees. Their stems are white and their caps are pale green or yellow-green in colour. They are found across Creation, most commonly in the East, Scavenger Lands, and Blessed Isle.

Death Caps are incredibly poisonous, ingestion almost always fatal in mortals. They are said to have a pleasant taste when eaten, and symptoms of poisoning do not arise for a day or two after ingesting. At that point, severe gastrointestinal problems erupt, followed rapidly by mass organ failure and painful death.

Death Caps are dangerous due to resemblance to edible mushrooms when the colour of their cap shifts: Death Caps can grow with very pale, near-white caps and resemble [[Paddy Straw Mushroom]]s, and sometimes with very yellow caps that can be mistaken for [[Shogun Mushroom]]s.
