Barat served in the [[1st Imperial Legion]] for many years, long considered the matriarch of the [[Imperial City]]'s [[Red Lantern District]]. Following her retirement, she was appointed to the [[Deliberative Senate]] and participated in several [[Wyld Hunt]]s, one of which claimed her life several decades ago. In the wake of this her daughter Seijika was elevated to her Deliberative seat, and her husband Hurkon took post as master of the Red Lanterns.
