Cathak Shuwei is a combat sorcerer, currently serving as a talonlord in the [[1st Imperial Legion]] commanding the 1st Sorcerer Scale of their special operations talon under [[Cathak Ain]]. With some talent in artifice as well as sorcery, Shuwei sometimes takes charge of duties as sorcerer-engineer for the Legion's Warstrider talon, particularly when such duties involve his lover [[Sesus Ilyanka]].

One of [[Cathak Cainan]]'s extensive brood of grandchildren, Shuwei has the advantage of his grandfather's name which has buoyed his ascent through the ranks despite the Dynasty (and [[House Cathak]] particularly)'s distaste for sorcery... but that name also places a heavy weight of expectation upon his shoulders.
