The 2nd Imperial Legion, first raised in [[RY40]], is a military formation of the Realm, based out of the [[Glittering Citadel]] in [[Vatamu]]. It numbers amongst the 4 (once 5) Legions known as the [[Imperial Guard]].

The 2nd has spent much of its life as a garrison unit defending the shores of the Scarlet Prefecture, but detachments have been deployed to more active operations, including the [[Campaign against the Mountain|war against the Anathema Jochim]] (who was eventually slain by the Wind Dancer [[Tepet Arada]]). The strategoi of the 2nd at that time was [[Cathak C'taru]].

In RY768, the [[Deliberative]] voted to deploy the 2nd Legion to the Threshold to continue the campaign of protecting Realm interests left by the [[4th Imperial Legion]].
